ABOUT

Hi! My name is Tony Liu, known by my artist name, "Grapevine." I'm a music producer, songwriter, and beatmaker based in New York City, focusing on pop, hip-hop, experimental, dance, and EDM sounds.

 

I'm starting off with my pop album, Spirits, which contains unique, vibey, and melodic tracks with female vocals, ranging from upbeat synthpop to chill singer-songwriter and indie pop.

I started playing the violin at 6 and gradually used my musical knowledge to transition into electronic production and songwriting, first focusing on instrumental production and gradually moving into vocal editing and sound design.

 

In college, I took part in sound design and music course and clubs, and am a regular attendee at both pop/indie concerts and electronic music festivals on my free time.

My main goal is to share unique and emotional stories that are actually thought-provoking and/or vibey, especially those that represent a specific type of feeling, such as adoration for a loved one or regret. My specific style relies heavily on delicate vocals, reverb, and ethereal tunes in order to accomplish this.

Outside of music, I enjoy tennis, screenwriting, entrepreneurship, and liminal spaces.
